Painting and Planning - Getting read for our first meeting

After our meeting with our WI Advisers we realised there was still a lot to organise. While we're still not an official WI and won't be until we have 12 paid members and 6 committee members, we do need to prepare for the first meeting on Tuesday 8th September.

The four founding Swallowtails got together on a beautiful, hot and sunny day to work out details and what could be better than to do some crafting as well? We sat outside, covered in sun tan cream, and painted stones for gifts and to decorate our gardens.

We came up with ideas of some of the meeting topics we want to have once we're set up and made a list of speakers we could rope in to come and do talks for us.

There's also a lot we have to organise for our first meeting, including what cakes we'd all bring. You can see we focus on the important details!

Of course a meeting of the Swallowtails wouldn't be complete without food and we had a lunch of cold meat, cheese and salad, with some delicious carrot scones that Vicki made for dessert.

Whenever we get together to talk about the WI we go away with various jobs to do; but we're starting to see things coming together. It's a good job as September is rapidly approaching!
